  • Cheeses: Choose a mixture of hard and soft cheese, younger and aged cheese such as brie, goat cheese, blue cheese, gouda
  • Cured Meats: Vary flavors between sweet, salty and spicy. Include prosciutto, mortadella, soppressata, salami, capicola
  • Fruits: Accent with grapes, pears, raspberries, plums, figs, dried apricots, golden raisins
  • Vegetables: Keep it savory with marinated mushrooms, pickled cauliflower, cornichons, marinated artichoke hearts, caper berries
  • Nuts & Olives: Small offerings can go a long way when you have marcona almonds, cashews, pistachios, or calestano olives
  • Spreads: Try honey, fruit jams or preserves, or flavored mustard
  • Breads: Serve with baguette slices, flatbread, seeded crackers, or toast points


Choose 3-4 types of cheese, 2-3 types of cured meats and accent with various fruit, vegetables, nuts, olives or spreads. Serve on a slate cheese board, wooden cutting board or platter. Include bread and crackers nearby.
